Our History
STRATO was established in early 1999 and operated as Gateway Technologies (Pty) Ltd. Gateway provided SAP ERP consulting, implementation, and support services to medium sized SAP Customers. Later that same year Gateway teamed up with other ERP entities to establish ERP.com Holdings Ltd, which was initially listed on the JSE Venture Capital Board and later the Main Board. At ERP.com Gateway rebranded as iServe and expanded its SAP customer base to include larger organisations as well as some international business. In 2000 iServe was accredited as SAP National Services Partner. Later In 2000 iServe was also accredited as SAP Application Hosting Partner (ASP) and in 2004 and 2005 as SAP Value Added Reseller for SAP All-in-One and Sap Value Added Reseller for SAP Business One, respectively.
ERP.com gradually changed its business focus to Data Security solutions. In December 2006 iServe concluded a Management Buy-Out (MBO) from ERP.com and refocussed the business on SAP. In January 2013 iServe was rebranded as STRATO IT Group.
During the first 14 years of STRATO’s business, it was centred around ERP systems consulting and implementations, and during the last 7 years, STRATO gradually transitioned to product development and business consulting. STRATO products are based on Cloud and Mobile technology and products are mainly focussed on the digitization and optimization of business processes.
Strato Brand Name Rationale
The STRATO name is a creative adaption of the word "stratum" or "strata" (plural). Stratum means a layer, or more especially one of several parallel layers arranged one on top of another. This name serves as a metaphor for the company’s core competency: putting the systems in place, from basic to complex, to ensure seamless business operations. It creates the foundation from which to build and grow.
Circular Element Logo
The circle symbolises a seamless business process from start to finish. It is also a metaphor for partnerships and global trade, with the arrow pointing up to show progress and growth. Red conveys strength and order, while corporate grey conveys resilience and reliability.
Our Major Achievements
STRATO has a track record of successful SAP implementations and in most instances has forged long term support relationships with the clients where STRATO has implemented SAP. STRATO consultants have also participated with other Consulting Service providers in many successful system implementations and our consultants are often called upon to bring specialist skills to implementation projects.
Global Trading Solution for Macsteel International
STRATO implemented a sophisticated Global Trading Solution, using SAP ERP as the core, for Macsteel International. The solution was developed in South Africa and then rolled-out to Macsteel International Trading Centres in the New York, London, Hong Kong and Dubai. The system is supported by STRATO from South Africa. In addition to the core ERP modules and the custom developed Global Trading functionality STRATO also implemented SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Business Consolidation (BCS) and SAP Business Planning and Simulation (BPS) for Macsteel International.
SAP Warehouse Management solution for Toyota
STRATO resources were instrumental in the implementation of a SAP Warehouse Management solution for the Toyota Parts division. The Toyota Warehouse is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the Southern hemisphere.
Digitization
STRATO has been instrumental in the digitization of delivery documentation processes for various customers. STRATO’s electronic proof of delivery application, STRATOPOD optimizes the delivery administration processes through its innovative data level digitization of all delivery/collection related documentation. The Mobile App records the physical delivery and verification activities in real time and integrates this information with the relevant back office systems. This removes the need for any back office capturing of delivery/collection related data. Proof of Delivery documents do not go missing anymore and are available for immediate further automated processing in real time. In all engagements with customers STRATOPODD projects were self-funding, meaning savings generated by the projects covered the project investment in less than a year. Some projects delivered 8 figure savings in their first year of operation.
STRATO has also developed an App for use by Sales Representatives and Customers. STRATOOB removes the need for any paper-based order placements. It provides for Orders/Returns to be captured via a Mobile App or a Web interface. No more lost paper-based orders and orders/returns become visible and available for processing in real time.
STRATO has also successfully deployed BOTS for the automatic recording of purchase orders and integrating them to the relevant back office system. Paper based Purchase orders are scanned and with OCR technology converted and automatically recorded in the ERP system.
Manufacturing and Distribution solution for the PG Group
The PG Group is a vertically integrated organisation encompassing the manufacture, distribution, warehousing and retailing of glass and aluminium products. The PG Group comprises of 11 diversified divisions and over 90 plants and distribution centres nationally. The SAP implementation replaced their existing SAP, BAAN and legacy systems. The implementations included all the core ERP modules (FI/CO/PP/PM/SD/MM) as well as SAP HR/Payroll, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP Advanced Planning and Optimisation, SAP Warehouse Management (including RF Scanning) and Variant Configuration.
System Integration Consulting
STRATO‘s first major deployment of SAP XI occurred in 2006 when they developed a SAP XI integration layer between SAP ERP and SAP Business One for the PG Group. This deployment enabled two way data flows between 52 PG retail branches using SAP Business One and a central instance of SAP ERP. The initial XI deployment has been enhanced over time to provide for high availability of information flows between the branches and the central system.
The STRATO integration team was also instrumental in deploying an integration solution for the Road Accident Fund (RAF). This deployment used SAP PI to facilitate integration between SAP ERP and a third party Claims system. STRATO resources also developed an integration solution to facilitate integration between the RAF and Financial Institutions.
STRATO‘s Principal Integration consultant performed a key role on the SAB Miller Imara Project. This project included the development of multiple interfaces between INFOR (Advanced Planning and Scheduling System), PLATO (Delivery Scheduling System) and SAP ERP. The project includes interfacing master data and transactional data between all 3 systems.
STRATO‘s Principal Integration consultant performs a lead role at a prominent Financial institution where he is responsible for the establishment of a SAP Integration Competency Centre (ICC). He is also responsible for the Architecture and deployment of a Process integration solution including all Adaptors and Data Services. Other STRATO Integration Consultants participate in this project.
Cloud Based Warehouse Management Application
STRATO Warehouse Management System (STRATOWM) is a unique flexible and automated solution for processing of all goods movements and stock management within the warehouse environment.
The implementation of state-of-the-art technology and real time integration with back office ERP Applications enables unique operational efficiencies ensuring optimization of resources, space, and order fulfillment.
STRATOWM uses Mobile App technology to interface with ERP Solutions rather than RF scanning technology. This allows the user interface to be extremely user friendly
and the cost of the devices are substantially less than RF Scanning devices.
STRATOWM provides detailed resource management functionality ensuring real time visibility of all related resource activity, including operators and equipment.
STRATOWM is a cloud-based system and thus allows the information to be accessed at any time and from anywhere.
